All the 2019 beauty trends you need to follow

As this year gender equality has been at the forefront of every conversation, powerful red lips, “strong” hairstyles and punk-inspired eyeliner on the autumn/winter 2018 catwalks reflected the message of female strength. This season’s women are not afraid to make a statement with her beauty.

From Sixties-inspired lashes to glitter-heavy make-up, discover the latest 2019 beauty and hair trends that you need to follow this season:

Glitter trend

This futuristic trend is ready for take-off. Don’t be the one who gets left behind. Shimmering foreheads, gold-smattered cheekbones, full faces of glitter or just oil-slick glitter lips are truly back!

My favourite look from Pat McGrath brings sparkly stuff back! Spoil yourself with a high-shine eyeshadow palette of iridescent space greys and silver as in this season it’s one of the hottest runway trends.

Flawlessly finished hair styles

Four weeks of fashion shows with glossy and high-maintenance hair styles showed that blow-dry has had a triumphant return. From perfectly straight hair to fun, messy wavestextured with volume and curls that are broken with a soft flick front, healthy hair is back! It’s now time to invest in a GHD or a Dyson dryer to look “oh so AW18”.

Fluttering Lashes

This season, super dark, thick and long lashes were the focus of the ultra-feminine beauty at Valentino, Givenchy and David Koma, while more classic smokey eye and deep dark lips were seen backstage at Anna Sui and Moschino reminding us how beautiful women in the 60’s were.  if you’re going to wear mascara, wear a lot of it. Pair a lot of mascara with healthy, glowing looking skin and a dab of lip balm to keep the look warm and luminous.

Powerful, red lips

As the message of women strength and empowerment was manifested through the catwalks, it’s no surprise that there was a wide variety of powerful red lips on shows too. This season the universally flattering red lipstick is the holy grail of beauty products as it came back on the lips of Evan Rachel Wood, Elisabeth Moss, and Rachel Brosnahan. To get a stand-out and powerful spot on look, consider a hair colour change to a dramatic cherry. The time is now!

Knots, knots, knots

Twists at Philosophy, topknots at Chanel and casual chignons at Merchant Archive – knots were the ultimate trend at AW 2018 fashion shows. Tie your hair in knots and please, don’t forget the chic accessories such as, plastic headbands, interlocking C clips (similar to those at Chanel), bow slides and those “banana clips” at Alexander Wang.
